Clearly Malika & Kyle were the perfect fit for EJP since we LOVE details as much as they do! From the sentimental ring dish to the macaroons to the Eiffel Tower, it was all perfect. On top of all the beautiful French elements we had an amazing time being with these two love birds and their wonderful friends and family.
What is your story as a couple?
Kyle and I met at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on our first day of college. We’ve been together for 7 years and are truly each other’s soulmates.
Engagement story: Malika and Kyle got engaged on Christmas Eve in 2014. Kyle flew to Paris to meet Malika for the Christmas holiday where she was working as an English teaching assistant for a school year. Kyle took Malika to get macarons and brunch at Ladurée on the Champs-Élysées and then to Shakespeare and Company bookshop that morning. In the evening he whisked her away to the Nutcracker ballet at the Paris Opera House and then to Café Delmas on Rue Mouffetard for dinner- one of Hemingway’s favorite spots in the city. Kyle proposed after dinner in front of the fountain at Place de la Contrescarpe to cheering and applause from those eating dinner and having drinks at the local brasseries.
What made you chose your venue?
I (Malika) grew up on the Shattuck-St.Mary’s campus and also attended school there as my parents were both teachers at the boarding school.
What inspired your wedding day?
Sofia Coppola’s film “Marie Antoinette”- also my father is French and we wanted a way to celebrate his side of the family.
